Car Trouble While Visiting Huntington Beach? Here's What to Do

Nobody plans for a warning light on vacation. If it happens while you're in Surf City, here's a simple plan.
1. Get safe first
Pull off somewhere safe, turn on your hazards, and if you're on the freeway or PCH, stay clear of traffic. If you see steam, a flashing check engine light, an oil pressure warning or a temperature gauge in the red, turn the engine off.
2. Is it a rental?
Call the rental company first. Most have their own roadside assistance and rules about who can repair their cars.
3. Check your roadside coverage
Your auto insurance, an auto club membership, a credit card or your car's manufacturer may include towing or roadside help.
4. Call a local shop before you tow
Call us at (714) 962-2400 and describe what's happening. We'll tell you honestly whether it sounds safe to drive over, and when we can take a look, before you pay for a tow.
5. Ask for a written estimate
In California, repair shops must give you a written estimate and get your OK before working on your car. That protects you even far from home.
6. Make the wait easy
For shorter diagnostics you're welcome in our waiting lobby. For longer repairs, Huntington Beach has plenty to do nearby, from Huntington Central Park to the beach and pier.
